Aniruddha Das aka Ani.D
“I am naked when I sing. I let you in to the deepest trenches of my soul. Hence I ask you all, does the genre ONLY FROM THE HEART exist?”.
Aniruddha Das or simply known as Ani.D is a Singer, Performer, Songwriter, Composer and Producer born and brought up in the rich cultural city of Calcutta, India and is currently a 6th semester student of the Vienna Music Institute majoring in Music as a Singer. Preceding this, Ani also has his “Foundation In Music” degree from his time at The International College Of Music, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Ani’s mixed background of being trained in Hindustani Classical Music, Bengali Folk Music, singing in Church in his school choir as both chorus and lead, as well as being heavily influenced over time by bombastic, powerful, and soulful vocalists such as
Whitney Houston, Freddie Mercury, Tina Turner, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga to name a few, makes his approach and delivery a very special one indeed. Ani has been singing ever since he remembers time and has had experience on the stage of over 16 years with his debut performance when he was 7 years old!
The Project (The Show)
This 60 Minute – long show carries the universal feeling of inclusivity and love (Pop), the expressiveness of Musical Theatre, the rawness of Gospel mixed in with the subtones of Disco, Funk, and Ani.D’s Indian Roots (Hindustani Classical, Rabindra sangeet – Bengali Standards and the much beloved Bollywood numbers).
With a talented and passionate 7 – Piece Ensemble (1 drummer, 1 keyboardist, 1 bassist, 1 guitarist with 1 violinist and 2 backing vocalists), Ani.D with his nuanced and larger than life stage presence, his 3.5 octaves range with his unique and versatile vocals (and his smile) will take you on a Journey from the first second till the very end. With an Eleven Song Set List, you will hear the Original Tunes written by Ani.D himself, unique and classic renditions of both Popular and Underrated Songs by the great artists (especially from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s) and a Bengali/Bollywood mix which is sure to leave one’s heart full with goodness.
The show bears the topics of the different feelings of being in love, self-awareness, self-acceptance and just having fun! Ani believes strongly, that we all are wondrously different and unique but we all go through the same things in our own way. The feelings of falling in love, falling out of love, pain, anger, frustration, betrayal, insecurities, happiness, joy, thrill, and peace, though may happen to all of us in different ways, ALL FEEL THE SAME!
